"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. "John 3 :16-17

Who we are

Kern Park Christian Church is a fellowship of believers who have a deep faith in God and a desire to be obedient to the teachings of Jesus.  We are a non-denominational church and are governed by God and the local church body.  Kern Park Christian Church has been a cornerstone of the Southeast community for nearly 100 years (see our church story at the bottom of the page).

Some of our beliefs and practices:

·         We observe the Lord's Supper (communion) each Sunday.

"...the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes."
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

·         We practice baptism by immersion in water.

"Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John to be baptized by him. But John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?" But Jesus answering said to him, "Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Matthew 4:13-15.

Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

·         We join in fellowship with other Christians and organizations to bring the Gospel of Christ to the world.

·         We encourage freedom of thought in matters of opinion where scripture has not spoken.

·         We recognize the principle of autonomy of the local congregation.

·         We believe that every Christian is a minister of Christ.

·         We believe that each Christian is uniquely gifted for service to the Lord.

·         We show care and concern for the community providing resources and assistance in cooperation with other agencies.

·         Our church and its ministries are supported through the tithes and offerings given by its members out of love and gratitude in response of God's own love and sacrifice.
